Everything that’s on your plate is because you said, yes!  If you’ve bitten off more than you can chew, learn how to push away from the table.  I share an easy exercise to teach you how to purge things that are not so good for you.  While portion control is important, but so is tracking your harvest to your plate.   Life is like a buffet, you can have anything want but just don’t put more on your plate than you can handle.  I recommend listening to episode #29 “The Power of NO”.

What are the points on your Moral Compass? The basic foundation for a fine-tuned moral compass is integrity, compassion, forgiveness and responsibility.  People with a healthy functioning moral compass are more grounded, focused productive and content with life.  They seem to be less individualistic and contribute to the world as whole.    Your moral compass can only point you in the right directions, it can’t make you go there.

May is mental health month. In this episode, I discuss mental illnesses to help spread the word and bring about awareness. Each year, 1 in 5 adults in the United States experiences mental illness. That’s about 43.8 million people. I am encouraging each of you to take an Anonymous, Free and Confidential Mental Health check-up. I also share an awesome tool called “Think Ahead”; this worksheet helps you with triggers, early warning signs and creating a plan. You can get this and the screening link by emailing me directly. In this episode, I look at the differences between Motivation and Inspiration. Motivation is the quality of providing incentive or motive, to impel. Inspiration is the stimulation of mind and emotion to a high level of feeling or activity. The clear difference between motivation and inspiration is, motivation is external and inspiration is internal. Sometimes all you need is a PUSH! This episode is about persistence-Persist Until Something Happens. I explore Napoleon Hill’s book “Think and Grow Rich” and review his steps to gaining persistence. If you have read this book, this a great refresher but if you haven’t, it is a must read! Persistence is one of the key factors of success. Using these 4 steps, will help you develop persistence. Don’t confuse procrastination with being lazy. Laziness is an unwillingness to work or to use energy. There are many factors that can lead to laziness such as hopelessness, fear of success and fear of failure. I share a few tips to help you rid your slothful ways and get energetic. “No” is a complete sentence. It does not need justification or an explanation. In this episode, learn the power of “No.” Have you ever said “yes” to something that you absolutely didn’t want to do? If so, you have been Hedging. Hedging is the behavior of saying yes to things that we don’t want to do or have the capacity to do. What’s the real reason behind being afraid to say “No?” I explain why it is so hard for us to give a response that reflects our true intention and capacity. This episode will sums up three tips to make saying no easier.

Life is like a camera focus on what’s important and you’ll capture it perfectly. Learn how to keep the “main thing the main thing” and stay FOCUSED! In this episode, I share a few tips on how to stay focused. By making a To-Do-List, eliminating distractions and adjusting your daily routine can tremendously improve your focus. Staying focused is a skill that’s really simple to explain: you concentrate your mind on a single thing and don’t allow it to be disturbed by anything else.   However, it’s easier said than done but it’s not impossible; it just requires practice and commitment.

In this episode, I breakdown how to use SMART Goals really work. A SMART Goal is a goal that is (S)pecific, (M)easurable, (A)ttainable, (R)elevant and (T)ime based. In other words, a goal that is very clear and easily understood. Learn why doing this careful planning at the beginning can save you lots of time and disappointment at a later stage.

 

A goal is a dream with a time-frame to it. Simply deciding by when you want to achieve something can be a good motivator.  It can prevent you from procrastinating because you know that you are working to a deadline. Understand how to be realistic but at the same time not limiting yourself based on what other people believe to be achievable or not.

Tis that time of the year to GIVE!   Since December is the month of giving gifts, what better feeling than to give to those less fortunate. In this episode of the Purpose Project Podcast, Jasmine Crowe, founder of Black Celebrity Giving shares why giving is good. In 2011, she launched a website- BlackCelebrityGiving.Com which is on the frontier in providing news, videos and photos of celebrity philanthropy, nonprofit organizations and causes that directly correlate with the black community.

Happy Holidays! In this episodes, I discuss what to do when the holidays are not so merry. That funk that you're in during the holidays, that seems to last all winter long may be a more severe diagnosis called Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). SAD is a clinical depression that occurs during the winter months and It dissipates during the spring and summer months. Learn symptoms and treatment used to beat the “Winter Blues.” I also elaborate on a unique treatment called phototherapy and discuss how light can drive out the darkness in your life.
